Washing your Vagina

It's a good and nice idea to avoid any use of perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics to wash your vagina, as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina, and can cause irritation.
Use plain, unperformed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva)  gently everyday. The vagina will clean itself inside your body with the help of natural vaginal secretion (discharge). "Washing your vagina more than once a day may be helpful during your period " says dr. Elneil,  who points our that keeping the area between the vagina and abused clean is very important too. "Good perineal hygiene is very necessary, by washing that area at least oncs a day using your normal bathing routine ".

"All women are different", Some may wash with perfumed soap and will not notice any problem or symptoms. But if a woman has vulvae irritation or symptoms, thanks one of the first thing you can do is to use non allergic, plain soaps to see if that will help.
Douches
A douche flushes water up into the vagina, clearing our vaginal secretions. Some women use a douche to clean the vagina,  but using a douche can disrupt the normal vaginal bacteria so it is not recommended to use it.
I can't think of any circumstances where douches are helpful, because all they do is washing out everything that is in the vagina, including all the healthy bacteria.

There is no evidence that douching protects against STIs or vaginal infections but rather it may increase the risk.
Scented wipes and vaginal deodorants
These perfumed products can disrupt the vagina's healthy, natural balance. If nature had intended the vagina to smell like rose or lavender, it would have made the vagina smell like roses and lavender.
Washing with clean water and plain soap is all you need to keep your vagina healthy and clean. It's normal for vagina to have a scent. Vaginal odour change at different times of the reproductive cycle and should not always be thought of as being a sign of infection or illness.

If you are worried about the way your vagina smells, if the smell is unpleasant or you're using perfumed products to cover up your vagina's smell, go and see your GP. You might have infection that need treatment.
The most common cause of unusual vaginal discharge is bacteria vaginosis, which can cause unpleasant smell. It is easily treated with antibiotics, so go and see your GP if you're worried.
Safer sex
Some bacteria and viruses can get into the vagina during sex. You can protect your vagina against infections by using a condom every time you want to have sex.
