Preserving someone's dignity is a representation of your own values. People with integrity always keep other people's lives to themselves because they give every life equal importance as their own.
Sometimes, we get to know something about a person they may not have disclosed to anyone. Many people spread this information to others because it gives them news to talk about. They forget that by doing so, they may be lowering someone's self-esteem and making life harder for them. It can make them feel vulnerable and emotionally exposed and affect their well being.
Value every person's life story regardless of whether it's told or untold. By maintaining their self-esteem, you only add more to your own worth.
