Oppo Find N5 Flip design may have leaked via patent filing

A Long Wait Since the Find N3 Flip

Oppo’s last clamshell-style foldable, the Find N3 Flip, launched back in 2023. Since then, the company has gone quiet in the flip phone category, even though it has already unveiled the book-style Find N5.

Find N5 Flip Design Emerges in Patent Filing

A newly uncovered WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) patent has surfaced, showcasing what could be the upcoming Oppo Find N5 Flip. The filing includes detailed schematics of a flip-style foldable device — and it features a design language not previously used by Oppo.

Familiar Yet Fresh Look

Despite being new, the design is instantly recognizable as part of Oppo’s Flip series. The cover display is placed on one side, and a triple-camera setup sits right next to it. While having three cameras is still uncommon for flip phones, the Find N3 Flip also included a similar configuration.

However, the new design changes things up a bit. The camera module layout here feels more like the Find N2 Flip in terms of position, but the lenses are housed within a larger camera island—offering a look that some might call Samsung-esque.

A Bigger Cover Display

The cover screen looks larger than the one on the Find N3 Flip. That makes sense given the growing industry trend of expanding cover displays to improve usability and multitasking.

Caution: Patents Don’t Always Mean Product

As exciting as these patent images may be, keep in mind that companies often patent designs they never release. So while this leak is compelling, it doesn't confirm the arrival of a Find N5 Flip, nor does it guarantee this design will make it to production.

Stay Tuned

We’ll be monitoring any further developments about the Oppo Find N5 Flip. Whether this design becomes reality or not, it’s clear Oppo is still experimenting in the foldable phone space.
