Android 16 Final Release Arrives Today: What You Need to Know About the Update
All eyes may have been on the launch of iOS 26, but Google has quietly announced that the Android 16 final release will drop later today, marking the end of the beta phase. While this is the final version for beta users, it doesn’t mean it’s the last of Android 16. The final build will be available for supported Pixel devices (Pixel 6 series and newer). If you’re running Android 15 or an earlier Android 16 beta, this update is for you.
If you’re on the Android 16 QPR 1 Beta 1, though, you’ll need to wait for a different update. The QPR quarterly release is expected to arrive in the fall and will bring a Material 3 Expressive UI overhaul, but it won’t be part of today’s update.
Other phone manufacturers are expected to release their Android 16 final updates soon, as they’ve been following Google's beta releases. Stay tuned for updates on how your device will receive the final version!
