Google Pixel 10 Series to Launch August 20 with Qi2 Wireless Charging, Tensor G5 & Magnetic Pixelsnap Accessories
Pixel 10 series set to debut on August 20 with new Tensor G5 chip, gimbal-like stabilization, Qi2 wireless charging, and magnetic Pixelsnap accessories. Full details and leaked features inside.
Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 10 series on August 20, and while the external design may look familiar, major internal upgrades are on the way. According to leaks, Google's Tensor G5 chipset, made for the first time by TSMC instead of Samsung, is expected to bring improved battery life and performance.
One standout upgrade is support for Qi2.2 wireless charging with magnetic alignment, a first for Pixel phones. Much like Apple’s MagSafe, the Pixel 10 series will come with built-in magnets. Google is also preparing a new lineup of magnetic accessories under the "Pixelsnap" brand.
Expected Pixelsnap Accessories:
Magnetic Charger
Charger with Stand
Ring Stand (a stand accessory without the actual charger)
These accessories aim to transform Pixel 10 phones into smart displays while charging, thanks to a new Hub Mode, echoing Apple’s StandBy feature.
Other Expected Features:
Gimbal-like camera stabilization for smoother video
ConvenientPower CPS4041 wireless charging chip (supports up to 60W charging, though actual wattage may be limited)
New color names:
“Rock Candy” (possibly replacing Obsidian/Black)
“Mist” becoming “Light Porcelain” (off-white tone)
Quick Summary of Pixel 10 Leaked Specs (So Far):
Chipset: Tensor G5 (TSMC-built)
Wireless Charging: Qi2.2 with Magnetic Power Profile (MPP)
Accessories: Pixelsnap series with magnetic chargers and stands
New Smart Display Mode: Hub Mode during charging
As the launch date approaches, Google is clearly pushing to compete more directly with Apple by mimicking popular features and improving hardware integration across its Pixel ecosystem.
