Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Gets One UI 8 Watch Update With Advanced Health Features and Running Coach
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra is now receiving the new One UI 8 Watch update, bringing a suite of upgraded health tracking tools, improved user interface, and advanced fitness coaching features. First introduced with the new Galaxy Watch8 series, the One UI 8 Watch interface is now rolling out to existing Galaxy Watch Ultra users globally.
The update focuses heavily on at-a-glance usability and deeper health insights, designed specifically for compact, watch-sized screens. One of the standout additions is the Multi-Info Tiles, which users can fully customize to display relevant data like weather updates, heart rate, steps, or training goals—all accessible with a quick glance.
Also making its way from Galaxy phones to the wrist is the Now Bar, which provides fast access to tools like the camera controller, media player, stopwatch, and timer. These features are customizable via the companion smartphone app, offering more control than ever.
On the health and wellness side, Samsung is pushing the boundaries of smartwatch biometrics. The Galaxy Watch Ultra can now measure two new key metrics:
Vascular Load – A unique feature that assesses how much stress your circulatory system is under during sleep.
Antioxidant Index – Tracks carotenoids stored in your skin, offering a snapshot of your antioxidant levels.
Fitness enthusiasts will love the addition of the Running Coach. This smart training tool creates personalized plans for 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon goals. It begins with a 12-minute performance test to gauge your running ability before designing a targeted regimen.
Earlier this month, during the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung also introduced a new Titanium Blue color for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and increased onboard storage to 64GB (up from 32GB). While not a new generation model—this is not the “Ultra 2”—the refreshed variant offers more space for apps and media.
And it doesn’t stop with the Ultra. Samsung has confirmed that One UI 8 Watch will also roll out to older smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro, with beta builds already spotted in the wild.
If you own a Galaxy Watch Ultra, now’s the time to check for the One UI 8 Watch update and unlock its powerful new features.
