Samsung Tri-Fold Foldable Phone Leak Reveals Design and Specs Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked
Samsung, a pioneer in the foldable phone market, may soon take the next leap with its first tri-fold smartphone. Ahead of the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, new leaks have surfaced revealing key design details of the highly anticipated device.
Discovered by Android Authority within the One UI 8 build, hidden animations show the tri-fold phone in action. The device features three rear panels and two inward-folding hinges of differing sizes — a departure from Huawei’s outward-folding Mate X design.
Notably, the tri-fold must be unfolded from right to left, and a separate animation warns users not to fold the right side (housing the triple-camera setup) inward, as doing so may damage the display.
The cover screen appears centrally placed when the device is fully unfolded. Internally referred to as Multifold 7 or Q7M, the phone’s final name may be Galaxy G Fold, based on earlier leaks.
Rumored specs include:
9.96-inch folding display
6.54-inch external cover screen
Weight: ~300g
Limited launch: South Korea and China only
If revealed at Galaxy Unpacked, this could mark a major evolution in Samsung's foldables, expanding the market beyond traditional book-style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold.
