Air Peace Breaks New Ground as Brazil Approves Direct Flight Operations
West Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has received official approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled international flights between Nigeria and Brazil, marking a major step in its global expansion strategy.
The approval, contained in ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, authorises the airline to run regular passenger, cargo, and mail services between Brazil and destinations within its expanding international network. This development opens the door for the first direct air connectivity between the two countries operated by a Nigerian airline.
Air Peace said the milestone aligns with its broader ambition to grow into a global carrier, as it continues to pursue regulatory approvals and expand routes across multiple continents.
The airline has also applied for landing rights in Canada and the United States, with plans to launch services to Toronto and New York. In addition, it is preparing to resume flights to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Guangzhou in China.
Further expansion plans include new routes to Manchester in the United Kingdom, alongside upcoming services to several African cities including Libreville, Conakry, Bamako, and Douala, scheduled to begin operations on August 1.
Currently, Air Peace already operates routes to London, Barbados, and several West African cities such as Accra, Freetown, Dakar, Banjul, Monrovia, and Abidjan.
The new Brazil route is expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and South America, further strengthening the airline’s international presence.
