Bengaluru Police Bust Major Drug Racket, Arrest Three Nigerians and Seize Narcotics Worth ₹23 Crore

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotic Wing (ANW) of the Central Crime Branch has arrested four suspected drug peddlers—including three Nigerian nationals—and seized narcotics worth an estimated ₹23 crore in two separate operations across Bengaluru.
The high-profile raids led to the recovery of 10.27 kilograms of MDMA crystals and 2.044 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis (ganja), marking one of the city's significant anti-drug operations in recent months.

Three Nigerian Nationals Arrested With MDMA Worth ₹21 Crore

Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Anti-Narcotic Wing raided a house within the Madanayakanahalli area of Bengaluru, where they arrested three Nigerian nationals:

Ambemo Jela Victor, 37

Chime Ndubunsi Moses, 36

Karikari Ames, 33

During the operation, investigators recovered 10.27 kilograms of MDMA crystals, with an estimated street value of ₹21 crore.

According to police, the suspects had entered India on medical and tourist visas.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the trio allegedly obtained the MDMA from another Nigerian national reportedly based in Delhi, with authorities continuing efforts to trace the wider drug supply network.

Second Operation Leads to Hydroponic Ganja Seizure

In a separate operation, police arrested Mohammed Marel Fecoge, a 25-year-old native of Kerala and an employee of a private company.

The arrest took place within the Banaswadi police jurisdiction after officers allegedly found him in possession of 2.044 kilograms of hydroponic ganja, valued at approximately ₹2 crore.

Investigators revealed that the suspect had relocated to Bengaluru about four months ago and allegedly sourced the narcotics through a contact in Kerala, who is believed to have imported the drugs from Thailand.

Police Intensify Crackdown on Drug Trafficking

Authorities disclosed that, in addition to these arrests, Bengaluru police have apprehended 13 suspected drug traffickers in separate anti-narcotics operations.

Combined seizures from these operations are estimated to be worth more than ₹2 crore, highlighting the city's intensified campaign against illegal drug distribution.

The operations were conducted under the supervision of L. Y. Rajesh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anti-Narcotic Wing, with field operations led by Police Inspectors Praveen C. Tyaligar and Manjappa C. A..

Investigation Continues

Police say investigations are ongoing to identify additional members of the suspected drug trafficking syndicates and uncover the full extent of the international supply chain.

Authorities are also examining possible links between the arrested suspects and other narcotics networks operating across India.
