Iran Newspaper Publishes Alleged Revenge Target List After Death of Ali Khamenei, Names Trump, Netanyahu and European Leaders

The aftermath of Iran's leadership crisis has taken another dramatic turn after a conservative Iranian newspaper published an alleged list of foreign leaders it claimed should be targeted in retaliation for the death of Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The report comes amid soaring tensions following the Middle East conflict that reportedly claimed Khamenei's life on February 28 during US-Israeli military strikes. His son and successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, has since vowed that those responsible will face consequences.

Mojtaba Khamenei Promises Revenge

In his first public message since his father's funeral, Mojtaba Khamenei declared that revenge was inevitable.

«"Vengeance is the will of our nation and must inevitably be carried out," he said.»

He further warned that those responsible would never enjoy a peaceful end, stating:

«"These criminals, whose names appear on a list, will take to their graves the wish of a peaceful death in their beds."»

Although Mojtaba referenced the existence of a list, he did not publicly identify any individuals.

Iranian Newspaper Names Trump, Netanyahu and European Leaders

Shortly after Mojtaba's statement, the Tehran-based conservative newspaper Hamshahri published an online infographic displaying photographs of 13 prominent international figures alongside his remarks.

The publication's list reportedly includes:

- US President Donald Trump
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer
- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
- US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
- French President Emmanuel Macron
- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz

Several other Western officials were also reportedly featured.

Notably, the infographic appeared online but was absent from the newspaper's Sunday print edition. There has been no official confirmation from the Iranian government that the newspaper's list represents state policy or has official approval.

Rising Tensions Between Iran and Western Nations

Relations between Iran and Western countries have deteriorated sharply during the conflict. Iranian officials have repeatedly accused several European governments of supporting military operations against Iran by allowing US military aircraft to use their airspace and by failing to condemn attacks on Iranian territory.

These accusations have further strained diplomatic ties and fueled fears of broader regional instability.

Mojtaba Khamenei's Public Absence

Mojtaba Khamenei has remained largely out of public view since before the conflict. Reports have claimed he sustained injuries during the strikes that killed his father, though Iranian authorities have released little official information regarding his condition.

His latest statement marks his first major public appearance since assuming leadership following the reported death of Ali Khamenei.

Global Concerns Grow

The publication of the alleged revenge target list has intensified international concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East. While the infographic has drawn widespread attention online, analysts note that it has not been officially endorsed by Iranian authorities.

Governments across the United States, Israel, and Europe continue to closely monitor developments as fears of further escalation remain high.
