Nigerian Man, Two Others Arrested in India Over Alleged ₹14 Lakh MDMA Drug Racket
Police Seize 143g of MDMA, Cash, Scooter, and Weighing Machine During Greater Noida Raid
Indian police have arrested three suspects, including a Nigerian national, for allegedly operating a synthetic drug distribution network in Greater Noida, recovering 143 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) valued at approximately ₹14 lakh on the international market.
The arrests were made on Saturday during a targeted operation conducted by the Greater Noida Police near the service road at Janata Flats, Sector Chi-IV, following credible intelligence about ongoing drug trafficking activities in the area.
Who Are the Suspects?
The three suspects arrested are:
- Arun Kasana, a resident of Ghaziabad.
- Atul Singh, who resides in Sampoornam Society, Greater Noida.
- Chidubem Stanley, a Nigerian national living in Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
According to investigators, the trio allegedly worked together to distribute illegal synthetic drugs across Noida, Greater Noida, and other parts of the Delhi-NCR region.
Police Recover Drugs, Cash and Equipment
During the operation, police reportedly seized:
- 143 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) worth around ₹14 lakh
- A scooter allegedly used to transport narcotics
- An electronic weighing machine
- ₹17,500 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales
Authorities believe the suspects purchased MDMA at lower prices, repackaged it into smaller quantities, and resold it at significantly higher prices, sharing the profits among members of the alleged network.
Residential Societies Allegedly Targeted
Greater Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Shankar Nim revealed that preliminary investigations indicate the group focused on supplying synthetic party drugs within residential communities and high-rise apartment complexes, where demand for such substances is believed to be high.
Police are now investigating whether the suspects sold the drugs directly to users or supplied them through local drug dealers operating across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Nigerian Suspect Previously Arrested
Investigators also disclosed that Chidubem Stanley had previously been arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in 2025 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to police, Stanley was released on bail before allegedly returning to drug trafficking activities.
Additional Charges Filed
Apart from facing charges under the NDPS Act, Stanley has also been booked under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act for alleged violations related to his stay in India.
The other two suspects are also facing charges connected to the alleged drug trafficking operation.
Investigation Expands
Authorities are now working to uncover the origin of the seized MDMA and dismantle the wider drug supply chain behind the alleged operation.
Police are also attempting to identify additional suspects, including local collaborators, distributors, and financiers who may have assisted in supplying narcotics throughout the Delhi-NCR region.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say more arrests could follow as they trace the network's operations.
