In an official statement, Antony Waste confirmed that continuous heavy rainfall destabilized the adjacent landfill, causing the enormous garbage heap to collapse onto the administrative structure.

Authorities have since suspended operations at the waste-to-energy plant while engineers conduct comprehensive structural integrity and safety inspections.
