If love is about liberation, why do people become possessive?

Liberation in love means allowing your loved one to explore their life because you trust them. You protect them but do not prevent them from achieving their dreams.

When the feeling of love becomes too intense, some people feel insecure and fear losing their loved ones. They try to capture and control their loved one's life, thinking they are protecting them. When someone takes over control of your decisions or choices in life, you feel suffocated. When love turns into power, the true essence of love is lost and instead of making people feel loved, it makes them feel unworthy, unloved and caged. 

Build your love on trust; it will make you feel secure about your loved one. Protect them, advise them and be there for them but always keep in mind that you don't own them.
