Sony launched: Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones in India.

Sony has finally launched the highly anticipated WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones in the Indian market. These headphones arrived in other global markets back in May 2022. Let’s take a look at the Indian pricing and availability of the headphones.

For Rs 26,999, you can now place a pre-order on Amazon for the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. The headphones are now being offered at a discounted pre-order price; once the pre-order period is up, the price will increase. Interested customers can place their pre-orders on Amazon and Sony Center. There are two color options available: Black and Silver.

Sony WH-1000XM5 specs & features

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is advertised as having the greatest noise-canceling technology available. Eight microphones assist the headphones to achieve this by significantly reducing noise, mostly on the medium and high-frequency bands.

The XM5 also claims to have the highest quality audio in the industry. In contrast to the XM4, it has a distinctive design, and the company claims that this time, comfort was given much more attention. The earcups can rotate sideways but not fold inwards like the previous generation.

They come with large 30mm dynamic drivers and use Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity. Sound profiles like SBC, AAC, and LDAC audio formats, and A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP are all supported. There is also AI-based DSEE Extreme technology included in the earphones that restore quality and clarity to lossy compressed formats.

With ANC switched on, the XM5’s battery life can last up to 30 hours of music playback and up to 40 hours without ANC. A full charge takes about 3.5 hours, and you can charge via a USB Type-C port.
