Google Reportedly Working on Theme Packs for Pixel Phones in Android 16 QPR1 Beta
Google is reportedly gearing up to introduce theme packs for its Pixel smartphones, according to a new report derived from code strings and a newly discovered button in the latest Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 update.
This button appears within the Pixel Wallpaper & Style app and is designed to launch a Pixel Customization Packs app—though this app isn’t publicly available yet, it’s clearly in development.
While the exact details are still unknown, it’s expected that Google might offer preset theme packs rather than launching a full-fledged theme store like other Android manufacturers. The Wallpaper & Style app will feature a new Themes entry at the top of both the Lock Screen and Home Screen tabs, described simply as “Discover Pixel themes.”
The code string named "theme_packs_description" hints that each theme pack could bundle multiple customization options, allowing users to personalize their Pixel phones in a fresh and integrated way.
Stay tuned as we keep an eye on Google's upcoming Pixel customization features, which could bring more personalization and style options to Android users.
