Google’s Pixelsnap Magnetic Accessories Coming with Pixel 10 – But You’ll Need a Special Case

Yesterday, rumors sparked excitement over Google's upcoming Pixelsnap accessories, hinting at iPhone-style built-in magnets in the Pixel 10 series. However, a fresh leak today claims that Google isn’t going that far. Instead, the magnets will be built into special cases – not the phones themselves – similar to what other Android brands have done with Qi2 support.
So, if you're hoping for native magnetic charging like on iPhones, you'll be disappointed. The Pixelsnap-branded chargers and stands will only work if you're using a magnetic case, either from Google or a third-party vendor.

The charger is expected to look very similar to Apple’s MagSafe puck, while the stand reportedly resembles the current Pixel Stand 2 but with a slot for the Qi2 charger.
Google is likely to unveil the Pixelsnap accessories – including the magnet-enabled cases – at the Pixel 10 launch event rumored for August 20.

"Will Android makers ever add magnets directly to phones? No one knows. But for now, this is Google's play."
