IM Motors LS7 Electric SUV Gets Power Boost and Simplified Lineup Ahead of Xiaomi YU7 Launch
IM Motors, a sub-brand of SAIC Motor, has refreshed its LS7 electric SUV lineup in a strategic move likely aimed at countering the imminent launch of the Xiaomi YU7 SUV. The 2023 LS7 originally debuted with multiple trim options, but the updated 2024 model streamlines the offering down to a single, top-tier Ultra AWD variant.
Under the hood — or rather, under the floor — the LS7 packs a serious punch. It features dual electric motors, with 200 kW on the front axle and a powerful 379 kW motor at the rear, giving it a combined output worthy of premium performance EVs.
A 100 kWh battery pack powers the system, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 700 km. Real-world range may vary, but fast-charging certainly won’t disappoint — IM claims a 10–80% charge in under 17 minutes.
Inside, the LS7 sports the latest IMOS 3.6.0 infotainment system, enhanced with DeepSeek LLM AI integration for smarter, more intuitive voice and smart cabin features.
Priced at RMB 339,000 (~€42,600), the IM LS7 sits in the sweet spot of value and performance. Early buyers get even more incentive — those placing orders before the end of next month will receive a RMB 10,000 discount.
As competition heats up in China’s electric SUV space, especially with Xiaomi entering the fray, IM Motors is clearly positioning the LS7 as a tech-forward, high-performance option that doesn’t break the bank.
