DS N°8 Electric SUV Coupe Debuts with Bold Design and Bold Pricing

The latest flagship from Stellantis’ premium French marque, DS Automobiles, has officially launched – and it’s making headlines for more than just its looks. The DS N°8 is a luxurious all-electric SUV coupe that aims to redefine “French elegance on wheels,” with a design inspired by the DS Aero Sport Lounge and performance to rival the German elite.
At 4.82 meters long and boasting a 2.9-meter wheelbase, the DS N°8 delivers presence in spades. Aerodynamic efficiency is a highlight, with a drag coefficient of just 0.24, aiding in its range of up to 750 km (WLTP).

Signature styling includes the futuristic DS Luminascreen grille, Pixel LED Vision 3.0 headlights, and the brand’s unique DS Lightblade DRLs. Inside, it's a sensory escape with olive leaf-tanned Nappa leather, marbled aluminum, Alcantara, and a 16-inch central display powered by DS Iris 2.0, plus massaging and neck-warming seats.
Buyers can choose between three French-made electric powertrains:

Variant Power Battery Range (WLTP) 0-100 km/h Starting Price

FWD 230 hp 73.7 kWh 550 km 7.7 sec €59,200
FWD Long Range 245 hp 97.2 kWh 750 km 7.8 sec €63,300
AWD Long Range 350 hp 97.2 kWh 688 km 5.4 sec €74,600

Top-up times are swift too — 20–80% charge in just 27 minutes with 160 kW DC fast charging for Long Range variants.

Trim levels include Pallas, Etoile, and the ultra-luxurious Jules Verne. Even the base trim gets wireless smartphone mirroring, DS Iris AI assistant, and comprehensive ADAS features. The top-spec Jules Verne edition pushes the price to €80,300, encroaching on Mercedes EQE and BMW i5 territory.
While early reviews praise the DS N°8’s craftsmanship, comfort, and avant-garde flair, many question if DS can compete on reputation alone — especially outside France, where its brand recognition is still growing.

Whether the DS N°8 becomes a true luxury disruptor or a niche curiosity will depend on how well it can translate French charm into global appeal.
