Meta Unveils Oakley Meta HSTN AR Glasses with 3K FPV Recording, 8-Hour Battery Life
Meta has just announced its latest innovation in smart eyewear — the Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced HOW-stuhn), a performance-focused upgrade to the Ray-Ban Meta line. Designed specifically for athletes and action-seekers, the HSTN glasses bring higher resolution video, better battery life, and a sportier aesthetic.
3K First-Person Recording & Audio Upgrades
The Oakley Meta HSTN is equipped with the ability to record 3K FPV (first-person view) videos, a major leap from the 1080p limit on the original Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. This makes them ideal for capturing high-detail action shots while biking, running, or even training.
Users get five built-in microphones for clear voice capture and Bluetooth speakers in the arms of the glasses for an “immersive audio experience.”
Smart AI Features and Hands-Free Operation
Powered by Meta AI, the Oakley HSTN allows users to control everything hands-free — start/stop video recordings, make calls, play music, send messages, or ask questions. A small LED indicator light in the frame lets bystanders know when recording is active, ensuring privacy awareness.
Additional controls include a touch-sensitive panel on the right arm and a physical capture button for quick manual input.
Battery Life & Charging Case
With up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge — double the battery life of the Ray-Ban Meta — the Oakley HSTN is built to last through long training sessions. The included charging/carrying case extends total use up to 48 hours, and just 20 minutes of charging gives you 50% battery.
Durability, Customization & Colors
The Oakley Meta HSTN features an IPX4 water resistance rating, making it splash-proof and sweat-resistant. It’s available in four stylish colorways: Warm Grey, Black, Brown Smoke, and Clear. Buyers can also choose from five lens types, all of which are prescription-compatible.
Pricing & Availability
Limited Edition Pre-orders Start July 11 – $499
Standard Oakley Smart Glasses Launch Later This Summer – $399
These new AR glasses mark Meta’s deeper push into wearable tech for active lifestyles, building on its early success with smart eyewear partnerships.
