Onvo L90 Unveiled: Nio’s Affordable Family Electric SUV Packs Luxury, Power, and Range

Nio’s sub-brand Onvo has officially introduced its first electric SUV, the Onvo L90, aiming to disrupt China’s competitive EV market. Slated for launch in Q3 2025, the L90 is a full-size family SUV that combines upscale design, cutting-edge technology, and flexible seating in an attractive, value-driven package.
The L90 boasts a modern, squared-off design with a grille-less front, sleek split LED headlights, flush door handles, and pixel-style taillights that give it a futuristic edge. It rolls on bold 21-inch wheels and stretches 5,145 mm in length — significantly larger than rivals like the Audi Q6 e-tron and BMW iX. A handy 240-liter front trunk adds practical storage.

Inside, the L90 focuses on simplicity and luxury. The cabin features leather-wrapped surfaces, woodgrain and chrome accents, and modern tech like a floating touchscreen, head-up display, and dual 50W wireless chargers. Hidden compartments, an onboard fridge, and flexible 6- or 7-seat layouts enhance family usability.
Underneath, the Onvo L90 shares its platform with the flagship Nio ET9. Two versions are available:

RWD: 340 kW (462 hp), up to 605 km CLTC range

AWD: 440 kW (598 hp), up to 570 km CLTC range
Both run on a 900V system for ultra-fast DC charging and feature an 85 kWh battery pack. Weight-saving innovations improve handling and efficiency, with the SUV weighing as little as 2,250 kg.

Onvo buyers will benefit from Nio’s extensive charging ecosystem, including nearly 2,000 battery swap stations, 2,400+ branded chargers, and over 57,000 third-party charging points across China.
The Onvo L90 will launch at an estimated price between RMB 220,000–250,000 (€27,300–€31,100). With a battery lease option, the starting price drops below RMB 200,000 (€24,900), making it one of the most compelling value-packed electric SUVs on the market.
