Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, and Flip7 FE Certified Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked – Plus Tease of Fold7 Ultra and New Devices
Samsung is gearing up for a major reveal at its Galaxy Unpacked event in early July, and its next-generation foldable smartphones just cleared a critical milestone. Three upcoming models have been certified by Indonesia’s TKDN regulatory body, indicating that the global launch is imminent.
Certified Models Confirmed
The certified trio includes:
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 (SM-F766B)
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (SM-F761B) – a more affordable fan edition
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 (SM-F966B) – the premium foldable flagship
Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra: A Limited Surprise?
Samsung also teased a mysterious Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra in a brief promotional clip. This model hasn’t yet surfaced on the Indonesian certification database, suggesting it might see limited regional availability – perhaps a repeat of the strategy used with the Z Fold Limited Edition.
Chipset Strategy: Exynos for Flips, Snapdragon for Fold
Here’s how the chipsets stack up for the new foldables:
Galaxy Z Flip7 will be powered by Exynos 2500
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will use the older Exynos 2400
Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to ship globally with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” variant
Notably, even US buyers may receive Exynos-powered Flip7 units this year – a departure from previous regional Snapdragon preferences.
One UI 8 Debut and More Devices Incoming
Samsung has officially confirmed that One UI 8 will debut on the new foldables, although an open beta is already available for Galaxy S25 testers.
The Galaxy Unpacked event will also unveil:
Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic – Classic model features an Ultra-style squircle body and rotating bezel
Project Moohan XR headset – Co-developed by Samsung and Google, this headset is expected later this year but could surprise launch at Unpacked
