Samsung XR Headset with Android XR and Gemini AI to Launch on October 13, Unveiling Set for September 29

Samsung is finally preparing to officially unveil its first Extended Reality (XR) headset, currently codenamed Project Moohan, on September 29, according to a new report from South Korea. The device will first go on sale in Korea starting October 13, with a gradual global rollout to follow.
This highly anticipated XR headset will be the first device powered by Android XR, a specialized version of Android built specifically for immersive AR/VR experiences. Android XR is the result of a collaborative effort between Google and Samsung, much like their recent work on Wear OS.

The Samsung XR headset will feature Google's Gemini AI integration and will be powered by the Qualcomm XR+ Gen 2 chipset, built on Samsung’s advanced 4nm process.
Before the official debut, Samsung plans to tease the XR headset again during its Galaxy Unpacked event next month, where the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 will also be announced.
