vivo X Fold5 Launches with Sleek Design, Massive Battery & IPX9+ Water Resistance
The vivo X Fold5 has officially launched in China, bringing impressive upgrades in design, durability, and battery life. While it retains the same display sizes as its predecessor, the new foldable is slimmer, lighter (especially the Titanium version), and the first foldable phone to boast both IPX8 and IPX9+ water resistance—a huge step for durability in foldables.
Key Design & Display Upgrades
Cover Display: 6.53-inch AMOLED
Main Display: 8.03-inch LTPO OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,480 x 2,200 resolution, Zeiss Master Color, 4,500 nits peak brightness

Battery & Charging: A New Benchmark
vivo packed in a massive 6,000mAh battery (dual-cell: 3,275mAh + 2,725mAh), making this the largest battery in any foldable yet. It supports:
80W wired charging
40W wireless charging

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the X Fold5 may not feature the latest chip, but still offers top-tier performance when paired with:
12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM
256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.1 Storage
Connectivity includes:
5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD, LDAC, LHDC
NFC, off-grid voice/text via Bluetooth (up to 1km)
USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with DisplayPort support
Pricing (China)
Variant Price (CNY) Price (USD)
12GB + 256GB ¥7,000 ~$975
12GB + 512GB ¥8,000 ~$1,115
16GB + 512GB ¥8,500 ~$1,255
16GB + 1TB ¥9,500 ~$1,325

Final Thoughts
While some may be disappointed by the older chipset, the vivo X Fold5’s thinner frame, best-in-class durability, enormous battery, and Zeiss-tuned cameras make it a foldable worth watching—especially if it gets an international release.
