Xiaomi YU7 to Launch With Gold-Infused "Dawn Pink" Paint and 835km Range

Xiaomi’s marketing push is ramping up ahead of the official YU7 SUV launch on June 26, and the latest reveal is stunning — the YU7 will debut with a gold-infused Dawn Pink paint finish.
This isn’t Xiaomi’s first brush with gold. The SU7 Ultra featured a carbon fiber badge with real gold inlays, but many of those badges were stolen shortly after delivery. Learning from that experience, Xiaomi’s latest gold treatment is baked right into the paintwork, making it theft-proof — unless someone steals the whole car.
The Dawn Pink color is a multilayer paint job that starts with a pink base, followed by a layer of gold particles, and topped with a clear coat. Inspired by the imagery of "a golden mountain at dawn," it’s one of the most striking finishes ever seen on a high-volume production EV.

Xiaomi also confirmed key specs of the YU7, including an 835 km range (CLTC) for the rear-wheel-drive version — which likely translates to just over 600 km in real-world usage. That's still impressive for a full-size SUV, especially one nearly 5 meters long — making it larger than the BMW iX or Audi Q8 e-tron. With a reclining five-seat layout, the YU7 aims to be a spacious, family-friendly EV.

The official launch happens June 26 at 7 PM Beijing time (1 PM CET / 7 AM New York / 4 AM LA), and we’ll be covering it live.
