2026 BMW iX3: All-Electric SUV Launches With 800V Fast Charging, 644km Range & Neue Klasse Platform
BMW is gearing up to launch its all-new 2026 iX3 electric SUV, the first model built on the automaker's dedicated Neue Klasse EV platform. This marks a major leap forward for BMW's electrification strategy, moving beyond ICE conversions and embracing a ground-up EV design.
The first production units of the iX3 50 xDrive will roll off BMW’s Debrecen, Hungary facility by late July 2025. North American and Asian production is set to begin in March 2026, followed by additional production at the San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico.
The 2026 iX3 lineup includes the iX3 40, 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive, and a powerful M60 xDrive, with the latter two expected to launch by July 2026. Color options include Alpine White, Ocean Wave Blue, Fire/Vegas Red, Smokey Green, and more.
A key highlight is the debut of BMW’s Panoramic iDrive interface, a widescreen digital dashboard inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse concept. Other advanced tech includes a 3D Head-Up Display, Augmented View navigation, and BMW Operating System X.
Under the hood, the dual-motor iX3 50 xDrive delivers 485 hp and hits 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The 113.4 kWh battery (108.4 kWh usable) supports 800V ultra-fast charging up to 400 kW, delivering 10-80% top-ups in just 21 minutes. BMW claims a WLTP range of up to 800 km and EPA range of 644 km. Bidirectional charging (V2G and V2H) is also onboard.
Practicality meets luxury with a 520L rear boot, 58L frunk, and expansive customization including Veganza vegan leather, Merino leather, and optional massage seats. Driver-assist tech, flush handles, LED lights, and the BMW Digital Key Plus come standard.
With the 2026 iX3, BMW is signaling the future of its EV lineup—tech-focused, performance-driven, and unmistakably premium.
