2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition Debuts with 105 kWh Battery, Bold Design, and Premium Features

Porsche is giving its electric sedan lineup a boost with the launch of the 2026 Taycan Black Edition—a special edition that adds aggressive styling, premium features, and improved performance, all bundled in a stealthy, monochromatic package.
Despite a modest 1.4% sales increase in the U.S. for the Taycan in the first half of 2025, global deliveries dropped 6%, prompting Porsche to reenergize interest in its flagship EV. The new Taycan Black Edition aims to do just that, offering enhanced value and visual appeal.
The Black Edition is available on the base RWD Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S models. One of the most significant upgrades is the Performance Battery Plus—a 105 kWh unit that’s now standard across all Black Edition variants. This battery improves both range and overall performance, giving the base model 429 hp (320 kW) and the Taycan 4S Black Edition an impressive 590 hp (440 kW). The electric drivetrain itself remains unchanged from the standard Taycan trims.
As the name suggests, the Black Edition introduces a sleek, high-gloss black aesthetic. Expect black window trim, mirror caps, and rear model badging, along with 21-inch wheels featuring Porsche crests. Matrix LED headlights and a rear light bar with an illuminated black Porsche logo complete the exterior upgrades.

For those wanting to go all-in on the theme, an optional extended Black Edition package adds special decals to the front doors. While the "Black Edition" name suggests a single color, buyers can choose from Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Ice Grey Metallic.
Inside, the cabin mirrors the exterior with a full black interior, illuminated brushed aluminum door sills, and a “Black Edition” badge on the center console. Standard features include 14-way power comfort seats with Porsche crests, a Bose Surround Sound System, and Porsche Electric Sport Sound.

Deliveries of the 2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition will begin in Fall 2025, and while pricing hasn’t been announced yet, expect a premium due to the extensive list of included upgrades.
