Google Veo 3 Now Lets You Turn Any Image Into an 8-Second AI Video with Sound

Google is leveling up its AI video generation game. Starting today, a new feature in Veo 3, the video arm of Gemini AI, allows users to transform a single image into a short AI-generated video—complete with audio.
This powerful photo-to-video feature is now rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in select countries, and it's also available through Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking platform.

Turn Images into Videos with Sound: How It Works

Creating your AI video is simple:

1. Select "Videos" from the tool menu in the Gemini prompt box.

2. Upload an image.

3. Describe the scene and include any audio instructions.

4. Submit your prompt—your image will be turned into an 8-second video with sound.

Once rendered, you can share, download, or rate the result with a thumbs up/down. Google will use your feedback to further improve video generation quality.

Watermark & Ethics: AI Transparency Built-In

Every AI-generated video will include:

A visible watermark indicating it's AI-generated.

An invisible SynthID digital watermark, to ensure authenticity and transparency.

Veo 3 Is Exploding in Popularity

In the past seven weeks, users have already created over 40 million videos using Veo 3 and Flow combined. With this new photo-to-video functionality, that number is expected to grow rapidly.

This update further cements Google's position in the rapidly evolving AI content creation space, making video generation more accessible and powerful than ever before.
