Huawei Mate XTs Leak: Refreshed Tri-Fold Smartphone with New Chipset, Cameras, and Color Options Coming in September
Huawei is getting ready to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its groundbreaking Mate XT, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, launched in September last year. And to mark the milestone, the company is rumored to be launching an upgraded version — the Huawei Mate XTs.
Contrary to earlier speculation that it would be called the Mate XT 2, a new report out of China suggests the name Mate XTs is more fitting, as this won’t be a complete redesign. Instead, Huawei is focusing on refinements and upgrades rather than a total overhaul.
According to leaks, the Huawei Mate XTs will offer:
Improved performance thanks to a new, more powerful chipset
Upgraded camera system for better photo and video quality
New color variants including White, Black, Red, and Purple — doubling the options available with the original
Design-wise and structurally, the device is expected to remain identical to the original Mate XT. While some may have hoped for more dramatic changes, these refinements could still appeal to enthusiasts of cutting-edge foldable tech.
It’s also worth noting that despite its ultra-premium price tag — the Mate XT Ultimate version features 1TB storage and 16GB RAM at around $4,613.33 — Huawei has reportedly sold over 500,000 units in China alone.
The Huawei Mate XTs is rumored to launch in September 2025, just in time to celebrate the first anniversary of the Mate XT.
Stay tuned as more details surface about Huawei's next big foldable.
