LG’s webOS Powers In-Car Streaming for Kia EV3 in Europe
LG Electronics has officially launched its webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP) in Europe, starting with the Kia EV3 electric SUV. This marks a significant expansion following a successful rollout in South Korea. The ACP will also power in-car entertainment in Kia’s upcoming EV4 and EV5 models.
Built on the same webOS platform found in over 240 million LG Smart TVs, the Automotive Content Platform is specifically optimized for the in-car environment. It delivers a seamless entertainment experience for both drivers and passengers, with streaming only enabled when the car is parked to ensure safety compliance.
The ACP offers instant access to popular streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, LG Channels, Baby Shark World, Stingray Karaoke, Play.Works, Haystack News, and Vasari. LG has confirmed that Rakuten TV, Napster, and Joyn will be added later in 2025.
With this move, LG is further establishing itself as a key player in the connected car and infotainment ecosystem, bringing a smart TV-like experience directly to your vehicle’s dashboard.
