Nothing Phone (3) Disappoints: High Price, Mid Specs – Is It Still Worth It in 2025?
After launching the Nothing Phone (2) in 2023, Nothing took a break from the flagship market in 2024 — promising to return stronger in 2025. Well, the Nothing Phone (3) is finally here, but it’s making waves for all the wrong reasons.
Let’s start with the design. Nothing has become known for its unique, transparent-back aesthetic and Glyph Interface — instantly recognizable and often praised. But the Phone (3)’s design has sparked heavy backlash despite two years in the making. Many fans and tech reviewers feel it's more style over substance this time.
Now, let’s talk pricing — and this is where things get even more controversial:
Model US UK EU India
12/256GB $800 £800 €800 ₹80,000
16/512GB $900 £900 €900 ₹90,000
For context, the OnePlus 13 (12/256GB) is priced at $900/£900/€1,000/₹70,000 — yes, the OnePlus flagship is cheaper in India than the Nothing Phone (3).
Spec-wise, the Phone (3) doesn’t exactly scream flagship either:
Display: 6.67" FHD+ OLED, 120Hz (non-LTPO)
Processor: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (not Elite)
Cameras: Triple 50MP setup with a 1/1.3” main sensor, but a downgraded periscope camera (1/2.75”) compared to the 3a Pro
Battery: 5,150mAh globally, 5,500mAh in India
Charging: 65W wired, 15W wireless
Water Resistance: IP68 (best yet for a Nothing phone, but still not top-tier)
For a phone priced like a flagship, the Nothing Phone (3) packs mid-tier hardware. And while it does offer 5 years of OS updates and 7 years of security patches, with Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16 coming later this autumn, it may not be enough to justify the price.
So the question is: are you willing to pay premium flagship pricing for a phone that doesn’t quite deliver flagship performance?
