Polestar 7 Teased Again: Compact Premium SUV to Be Built in Slovakia, Launch Expected in 2028
Polestar is slowly lifting the curtain on its upcoming Polestar 7, a compact premium electric SUV set to debut in 2028. While official details remain limited, the automaker has now teased the SUV once more—this time offering a glimpse at its signature headlight design, which follows the brand’s recognizable lighting aesthetic.
Earlier this year, Polestar confirmed that the Polestar 7 will be manufactured in Europe, and the latest update reveals exactly where: at Volvo’s state-of-the-art plant in Kosice, Slovakia. This factory is still under construction but is expected to be completed well before production ramps up for the Polestar 7.
As both Polestar and Volvo operate under the Geely Holding Group, the collaboration between the two brands will go beyond assembly. Polestar confirmed that the 7 will benefit from shared battery technology, in-house developed e-motors, and joint manufacturing efforts, all aimed at delivering a high-performance and efficient electric SUV.
The Kosice facility, which began construction in 2023, is strategically located with excellent access to key European markets and a strong local supplier ecosystem—making it an ideal hub for the next-generation EV.
With each new teaser, anticipation grows for the Polestar 7. While the full reveal is still years away, it’s shaping up to be a key player in the compact luxury EV segment.
