Samsung Galaxy A17 5G Leaks with Exynos 1380, 50MP OIS Camera, and 6.7" AMOLED Display Ahead of October Launch
Just hours after receiving its certification, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has surfaced again — this time in a set of official-looking renders, giving us our first full look at Samsung’s next affordable 5G smartphone.
The renders showcase the Galaxy A17 in a dark gray/black colorway, with one image revealing an alternate color variant. Notably, it's unclear whether Samsung will also launch a 4G-only version, like it did with the Galaxy A16 series.
As for confirmed specs, the Galaxy A17 5G will be powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, the same SoC seen in a recent benchmark leak. The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, 5MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro lens.
One of the standout upgrades this year is OIS (optical image stabilization) on the main camera — a first for Samsung in this price segment, signaling a meaningful boost in photography performance.
Other highlights include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging, ensuring decent endurance and faster recharging. The front design sports a waterdrop notch and a rather large chin, which gives it a slightly dated appearance in 2025's landscape.
The Galaxy A17 is expected to keep the same dimensions as the A16, meaning design changes are minimal aside from internal upgrades. It will reportedly launch in October, and in the U.S., T-Mobile is confirmed to carry the phone, possibly alongside other major carriers.
Given that the Galaxy A16 has been one of Samsung's best-selling devices recently, the A17 has big shoes to fill — and these early leaks show it's off to a promising start.
