Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge to Get Thinner Design and Bigger Battery Thanks to New Tech

Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge back in May, stunning fans with its ultra-thin 5.8mm profile. However, its slim build came at a cost — a modest 3,900 mAh battery, which drew criticism for less-than-ideal day-to-day performance.
Now, a new leak from trusted tipster Ice Universe suggests that Samsung is already working to fix this in the upcoming Galaxy S26 Edge, expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra in January 2026. The S26 Edge will reportedly be even thinner than its predecessor while housing a larger battery, thanks to new battery material technology.

This could point to the use of silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery tech, which promises higher energy density without increasing physical size. While the exact chemistry remains unconfirmed, any improvement to the S25 Edge’s battery life will be a welcome upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Pricing (Current)

As we await the Galaxy S26 series' debut, it’s clear that Samsung is listening to user feedback — and preparing something sleeker and more powerful.
