Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 & Flip7 Break Pre-Order Records in South Korea and India

The newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 have made a thunderous debut, setting a new record for foldable smartphone pre-orders in South Korea. According to a report by ETNews, Samsung recorded a staggering 1.04 million pre-orders between July 15 and 21, surpassing the previous record of 1.02 million set by the Galaxy Z5 series.

This also represents a 14% year-over-year growth, beating last year’s Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 launch numbers (910,000 pre-orders).

Galaxy Z Fold7 Overtakes Flip7 in Popularity

For the first time, the Galaxy Z Fold model has taken the lead in pre-orders, accounting for 60% of orders through Korea's top carriers—SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+. Traditionally, Flip models have dominated. In 2023, for instance, the Flip5 held a 70% share. This reversal signals growing interest in larger foldables.
