Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Sets New Durability Benchmark with 500,000 Folds Certification
Samsung has officially raised the bar for foldable phone durability with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7—its thinnest and most durable foldable yet.
According to a certification from Bureau Veritas, the Galaxy Z Fold7's foldable display has been tested to withstand over 500,000 folds, a significant leap from the 200,000 folds achieved by its predecessor. That’s an 85% improvement, simulating over 10 years of use at 100 folds per day, or 6+ years of heavy use at 200 folds daily.
What makes the Fold7 so durable?
Samsung's engineering upgrades include:
A 50% thicker Ultra Thin Glass layer on the inner display
A new high-elastic adhesive that improves screen recovery by 4x
A flattening structure to evenly distribute shock
A high-strength titanium plate reinforcing the display layer
Despite these improvements, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, showing that durability doesn’t have to come at the cost of portability.
Galaxy Z Fold7 Pricing:
12GB RAM + 256GB storage – $1,999.99
12GB RAM + 512GB storage – $1,999.99
Samsung continues to lead the foldable phone market by proving that thinner devices can also be built to last.
