Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Impresses in Durability Test: Scratches, Burns & Bends Withstood
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has officially been put through the ultimate stress test by YouTuber JerryRigEverything, known for his brutal durability reviews. Foldable phones have often struggled in these tests, but the Z Fold7 surprised everyone by exceeding expectations and proving it’s more rugged than it looks.
Despite being Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable yet, the Z Fold7 passed all durability tests — including scratch, burn, and bend challenges — with impressive results.
The cover screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, scratched at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, which is standard for most flagship phones. The inner display, made from Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), remains more vulnerable and scratched at level 2 — a known trade-off in current foldable tech.
The Armor Aluminum frame and Armor FlexHinge proved strong and durable, while the IP48 rating showed resistance against dust and small debris, making it suitable for real-world rugged use.
The most eye-catching part of the test was the bend test (at the 8-minute mark), where the Fold7 showed significant flex but remained fully functional, further highlighting Samsung’s engineering improvements over previous models.
Galaxy Z Fold7 Pricing:
256GB + 12GB RAM – $1,999.99
512GB + 12GB RAM – $2,119.99
Samsung continues to set the benchmark in foldable durability — and the Z Fold7 is proof
