Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Could Launch This Year, Says TM Roh – Name, Design, and Availability Details Leak

Despite swirling rumors, Samsung’s highly anticipated tri-fold foldable phone was a no-show at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event. However, the dream is still alive—Samsung Electronics chief TM Roh has confirmed that the device will launch before the end of 2025.
According to Roh, the company is currently “focusing on perfecting the product and its usability,” though the final name hasn’t been officially decided. That decision may already be behind closed doors, though, as reliable leaker Max Jambor recently suggested the name could be Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. Following Samsung's usual naming patterns, it’s likely a version number will also be attached, similar to the recently leaked Galaxy Z Flip7 FE.

Further clues about the upcoming tri-fold surfaced within One UI 8, which launched with the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 but was originally beta tested on the Galaxy S25 series. Videos and animations discovered in the firmware offer subtle hints at new folding form factors, suggesting the UI is already being optimized for multi-panel foldables.

Previously, another potential name—Galaxy G Fold—was floated in connection with Samsung’s Flex G and Flex S display prototypes, first showcased at CES 2022. However, Samsung may be hesitant to move away from the now-iconic “Z” branding, which has become synonymous with its foldable lineup.
So far, the tri-fold device is only known by its code name “Q7M” and model number SM-F968, while the new Galaxy Z Fold7 is tagged as Q7 and SM-F966. This lines up closely, confirming it's part of the Z Fold lineage—just with a unique triple-hinge design.

One key point to note is availability: leaks suggest this device will be produced in very limited quantities and may only launch in a select few countries initially. That could make the Galaxy Z TriFold a niche showcase of innovation—for now.
As Samsung aims to push boundaries in the foldable market, the Galaxy Z TriFold could represent the next leap in mobile design. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official reveal.
