Huawei Pura 80 Ultra Unboxing: Prestige Gold Beauty with Powerful Zoom and Premium Feel
We’ve already had some hands-on time with the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, but now the device is officially in the office, and it's time for a proper unboxing experience.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra retail box comes fully loaded. Inside, you’ll find:
A textured protective case
A powerful 100W charger (with both USB-A and USB-C ports)
A USB-C cable
A SIM ejector tool
The included case is a nice touch, with a textured back panel that provides grip, but the glossy sides can be a bit slippery. Due to the curved design—matching the phone’s edges—it can be a little tricky to pick up the phone from flat surfaces.
Once in hand, the Pura 80 Ultra display is nothing short of stunning. It’s expansive, immersive, and thanks to its quad-curved edges and ultra-thin bezels, it’s extremely comfortable for swiping and gesture navigation.
Our unit comes in the Prestige Gold colorway. It’s not your typical flashy gold—it can look subtly silvery depending on the lighting, giving it a more elegant and refined aesthetic.
When you first pick up the device, its heft is immediately noticeable. It feels top-heavy, mainly due to its massive camera island, but in real-world use, the phone doesn't feel bulkier than its main competitors like the vivo X200 Ultra. In fact, it's slightly smaller while still packing one of the largest camera modules we've seen.
Speaking of the camera island, Huawei has nailed the design. It’s rounded on all sides with a steep, flowing curvature, which makes it pleasant to the touch—much more so than the knurled, mechanical rings of the vivo X200 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Running a finger along its edge feels oddly soothing—a small detail that adds character.
One standout feature is the physical sensation when switching between 3.7x and 10x zoom levels. There’s a subtle click paired with a "swoosh" sound effect, giving you tactile and audio feedback. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s a brilliant touch for those who appreciate mechanical finesse. Huawei's telephoto module here is not just functional—it's an experience.
We’re now handing the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra over to our reviewers for full testing, so stay tuned for our in-depth camera, performance, and battery life evaluations.
