Samsung W26 Certified in China Ahead of Launch – Thinner, Bigger Foldable Successor to W25 Incoming
Samsung is quietly preparing the follow-up to its ultra-premium foldable line. The Samsung W26, successor to the W25 (also known globally as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition), has just been certified for sale in China, revealing a few key details ahead of its official launch.
What is the Samsung W26?
Last year, Samsung surprised fans in Korea with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition — a thinner, lighter, and larger-screened version of the Z Fold6. It was everything fans wanted from the mainstream Fold but limited to Korea and later released in China as the Samsung W25.
Now, its successor, the Samsung W26, is on the horizon. The recent Chinese certification confirms that the device is real and could launch earlier than the W25, which debuted in November 2024.
Samsung W26 Specs (So Far)
According to the listing:
25W wired charging support (same as W25 and most recent Galaxy foldables)
No charger included in the box
Satellite connectivity support for enhanced emergency communication
There’s still no word on upgrades to design, display size, or hardware, but we expect the W26 to carry forward the ultra-premium, slim, and lightweight design language of its predecessor — possibly improving on screen durability, multitasking features, and battery life.
Global Launch?
As of now, the W26 is only confirmed for China. It remains unclear whether Samsung will expand availability globally. That said, the demand for a slimmer, larger Fold continues to grow — so fans worldwide are hopeful.
In the meantime, Samsung’s big Unpacked event is set for July 9, where the company will launch:
Galaxy Z Fold7
Galaxy Z Flip7
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
Stay tuned for more updates as we track the W26’s development and Samsung’s foldable roadmap.
