Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Unveiled: The World's Slimmest Tri-Fold Phone is Coming Soon

Tecno is gearing up for a major innovation in foldable tech. Nearly a year after unveiling the Phantom Ultimate 2 concept and showcasing it again at MWC 2025, the company is now preparing for the official debut of its next-gen tri-fold concept — the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold. The big reveal is scheduled for mid-July, and we've already gotten an early look at the device in both its folded and fully unfolded form.
A True Tri-Fold Revolution

The Phantom Ultimate G Fold features an inward-folding tri-fold design, similar to what Samsung is rumored to be working on. This layout completely protects the main display when the device is folded, reducing the risk of scratches or impact damage — a smart move in the world of foldables.

Although this device remains a concept and not yet ready for mass production, Tecno has packed in some impressive innovations. There’s a cover screen on the left and a triple rear camera system, hinting that Tecno is aiming for both functionality and premium features.
Crease-Free Display & Ultra-Slim Form

Tecno says the G Fold will deliver a flat, seamless display experience with no visible crease when fully unfolded. This was made possible through flexible display layering technology and a redesigned dual-hinge mechanism with smaller components, enabling multi-angle hovering and varied folding formations.
Perhaps the most jaw-dropping claim? Tecno says the Phantom Ultimate G Fold will be the slimmest tri-fold phone ever made, even beating the already ultra-thin Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, which comes in at just 3.6mm when unfolded.
First Look: Design & Cameras

Tipster Ice Universe has shared even more images of the G Fold, revealing its sleek hardware, expansive unfolded screen, and sophisticated camera layout. It’s clear Tecno is not just experimenting — they’re pushing the envelope of what a foldable smartphone can be.

Stay tuned for the official unveiling later this month, and expect more innovations from Tecno in the near future.
