WhatsApp Developing ‘Quick Recap’ Feature to Summarize Multiple Chats at Once – Here's What You Need to Know
WhatsApp is working on a new feature called “Quick Recap” that will allow users to summarize messages from up to five chats simultaneously. This comes just a month after the stable release of the “Message Summaries” feature, which currently only supports one chat at a time.
🔍 What Is WhatsApp Quick Recap?
Spotted by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta for Android v2.25.21.12, the Quick Recap feature will enhance the chat overview experience by giving users a quick summary of multiple conversations at once. To access it, users will simply:
1. Go to the Chats tab
2. Select up to five chats
3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
4. Click on "Quick Recap"
Like Message Summaries, Quick Recap is optional and disabled by default. It also respects user privacy and uses Meta’s Private Processing technology, ensuring neither Meta, WhatsApp, nor third parties can access the original messages or their summaries.
However, chats protected by Advanced Chat Privacy will not be eligible for summarization.
🧪 Availability:
While the feature is in development, it’s not yet available even in the latest beta, but is expected to roll out soon to beta users, followed by a wider stable release.
This marks another AI-powered productivity tool from WhatsApp to help users manage busy conversations more efficiently.
