WhatsApp May Soon Let You Import Profile Photos from Facebook and Instagram

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that could make updating your profile picture even easier. Currently, users can take a new photo, choose one from their phone gallery, or use the AI image generator. But now, WhatsApp might soon let users import profile photos directly from their linked Facebook and Instagram accounts.
This upcoming option, spotted in beta version 2.25.21.23 of WhatsApp for Android, was revealed by WABetaInfo. A screenshot from the beta shows two new options under the profile settings — allowing users to choose and set their profile photo directly from either Facebook or Instagram.

To use this, users must link their WhatsApp account with Meta’s Account Center. However, this feature is entirely optional and turned off by default. Importantly, linking accounts for this feature does not affect WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption or privacy protections.
For now, the feature is rolling out only to select beta testers, and there’s no confirmed release date for a global rollout in the stable version. But if you frequently update your profile across Meta platforms, this feature could save you some time.

Stay tuned for more updates on WhatsApp’s evolving features!
