Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Spotted in Europe as YU7 SUV Breaks Preorder Records in China
While a lone Xiaomi SU7 Ultra silently cruises the streets of Munich with German plates, a different kind of storm brews in China — and it's all about the company’s first electric SUV, the Xiaomi YU7. As European regulators get a firsthand look at Xiaomi’s high-performance SU7 sedan, Chinese consumers are overwhelming the automaker with preorders that have shaken the EV industry.
Xiaomi has officially registered its SU7 Ultra for road testing in Europe. The production-spec vehicle, spotted with license plate “M SU7088E,” marks the company’s debut test on European roads. Lu Weibing, Xiaomi President and Redmi CEO, was personally seen behind the wheel in Munich, showcasing the company’s serious intent.
However, European consumers will need to be patient. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has made it clear: a global rollout isn’t expected until 2027. For now, the SU7 Ultra is serving as a technical validation prototype and a statement of intent.
