Trump: “Without Me, There Would Be No Israel” Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked fresh debate after declaring that Israel’s survival and strength are closely tied to both the United States and his leadership.

Speaking at the G7 Summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, on Tuesday, Trump addressed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly the conflict involving Israel, Lebanon, and Iran. He criticized certain military tactics, arguing that large-scale attacks often harm innocent civilians alongside intended targets.

Trump suggested that regional actors should play a greater role in addressing security threats, claiming that Syria has been more effective in dealing with Hezbollah in some instances. He also urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to exercise greater responsibility, especially regarding operations in Lebanon.

The most striking moment of his remarks came when he highlighted what he described as his administration’s unprecedented support for Israel.

“Without the United States, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel,” Trump said, arguing that previous American presidents were unwilling to take the actions he took during his time in office.

Trump pointed to his close relationship with Netanyahu and his record on U.S.-Israel relations as evidence of his commitment to the Jewish state. His comments come at a time when diplomatic efforts are intensifying to prevent further escalation across the region and maintain fragile ceasefire agreements.
