APC Set to Beat INEC Deadline as Tinubu, Running Mate Expected on Candidate Portal Before July 11

Meta Description: The APC says it is on track to meet INEC's July 11 deadline, with President Bola Tinubu and his running mate expected to be uploaded to the nomination portal before midweek. The party has also replaced 25 National Assembly candidates after reviewing more than 700 petitions.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is on course to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for the submission of its presidential and National Assembly candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to a senior member of the party's National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, the upload of candidates' details to the INEC nomination portal is already at an advanced stage.

The source disclosed that the details of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate are expected to be uploaded before the middle of the week, well ahead of the July 11 deadline.

«"We are progressing smoothly with the uploading of the details of our National Assembly candidates. We hope that on or before next Wednesday, we shall upload the details of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate. We are completely sure of meeting the July 11 deadline," the source said.»

APC Advances Candidate Upload Process

Sources within the APC's ICT department also confirmed that the details of most principal officers of the 10th National Assembly, several serving lawmakers, and four governors who secured senatorial tickets have already been uploaded to the INEC portal.

The party is expected to complete the remaining uploads in the coming days as it finalizes preparations for the 2027 elections.

25 Candidates Replaced After Review of 700 Petitions

The latest development follows the APC's review of more than 700 petitions submitted by aggrieved aspirants after the party's primaries.

Following the review, the party approved the replacement of six senatorial candidates and 19 House of Representatives candidates across several states.

Party officials say the changes were made after carefully examining complaints and resolving disputes arising from the primary elections.

Felix Morka Speaks on Final Candidate List

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the party's immediate priority is ensuring that every approved candidate completes and submits the mandatory INEC Form EC9 nomination documents before the deadline.

He added that the APC will publish its final list of candidates once all documentation and verification processes have been completed.

Why This Matters

Meeting the INEC submission deadline is a critical legal requirement for every political party participating in the 2027 general elections. Any failure to submit candidate details on time could affect a party's participation in the affected contests.

With the July 11 deadline fast approaching, the APC's progress suggests the ruling party is moving quickly to complete all necessary documentation and avoid last-minute complications.

Political observers will now be watching closely for the official publication of the APC's final list of presidential and National Assembly candidates in the coming days.
