FG Begins Recruitment of 5,000 Nigerian Youths for Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI) 2026 – How to Apply

The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially launched the recruitment of 5,000 young Nigerians into the Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI) Power Force Programme.
The initiative is aimed at training and certifying thousands of meter installers to help bridge Nigeria's electricity metering gap while creating employment opportunities for youths across the country.

If you are between the ages of 18 and 35, this could be your opportunity to acquire valuable technical skills, earn an industry-recognized certification, and build a rewarding career in Nigeria's power sector.

What Is the Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI)?

The Presidential Metering Initiative is a Federal Government programme designed to eliminate estimated electricity billing by accelerating the nationwide deployment of electricity meters.

Nigeria currently has an estimated 7 million meter deficit, while the number of certified meter installers remains too small to meet the growing demand. To address this challenge, the government is training 5,000 additional meter installers who will support the country's metering expansion over the next two years.

Successful applicants will receive professional training from the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and will be certified by the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
