Preliminary Medical Examiner Report Reveals Reported Cause of Sen. Lindsey Graham's Death
The District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has released preliminary findings indicating that Sen. Lindsey Graham reportedly suffered an aortic dissection caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
According to officials, these initial findings provide the first official details regarding the South Carolina senator's reported cause of death. However, investigators emphasized that the case remains under review.
In an official statement, the medical examiner's office said the death certificate will remain pending until all toxicological analyses and microscopic examinations have been completed.
«"The death certificate will be PENDING until all the toxicological and microscopic testing are finalized, and at that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death," the statement said.»
Authorities have not released additional information while the investigation continues. A final determination will be made once all laboratory testing is complete.
