Huawei Pura 80 Series Launches June 11 in China: Pura 80 Ultra to Feature 1-Inch Camera Sensor
Huawei has officially confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Pura 80 series—set to debut on June 11 at 2:30 PM local time in China. This follows a slightly longer development cycle compared to last year’s Pura 70 series, which launched in April 2024.
One key reason for the delay appears to be the advanced camera system on the Pura 80 Ultra. According to leaks and rumors, the Ultra variant is expected to feature a massive 1-inch type main sensor with a variable aperture, possibly developed in-house by Huawei. The setup also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a periscope telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, signaling a serious focus on photography.
Huawei’s teaser image hints that camera innovation will be the centerpiece of the Pura 80 series—especially for the Ultra model. With mobile photography becoming increasingly important for smartphone buyers, Huawei seems poised to compete head-to-head with the likes of Xiaomi, Vivo, and Samsung in the high-end imaging space.
We’ll know all the official specs and pricing details next week, so stay tuned for the full reveal.
