FAW Audi Launches Q6L e-tron Electric SUV with Huawei Tech: 765km Range, Advanced Self-Driving, and Luxury Features
At the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show, FAW Audi officially unveiled its newest all-electric SUV—the Q6L e-tron. This marks a significant milestone as it's the first Audi vehicle to feature deep integration with Chinese tech giant Huawei, making the Q6L e-tron a showcase of German engineering combined with cutting-edge Chinese technology.
Built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, the Q6L e-tron is designed from the ground up as a dedicated EV. Audi touts its "five kingly strengths": technology, safety, driving performance, comfort, and design.
Huawei-Powered Intelligence
One of the headline features is Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving System, optimized specifically for the Q6L e-tron. It uses dual LiDAR sensors and a network of advanced cameras to enable a highly accurate perception system—built with Chinese road conditions in mind. This positions the Q6L e-tron as a serious player in the autonomous driving space.
High-Performance EV Specs
The SUV supports an 800V electrical architecture and fast charging up to 270 kW. Audi claims a CLTC range of 765 km on a single charge, putting it near the top of its segment in terms of range.
Safety & Battery Tech
Audi emphasizes safety with a racing-grade safety cage, plus a redundant thermal management system for the battery. It includes 1,000V insulation and has passed extreme durability tests including fire, water immersion, and impact from below.
Ride & Comfort
With Audi’s promise of "German handling genes," the Q6L e-tron is designed to deliver an engaging drive while minimizing passenger discomfort. The tuning aims for a ride that’s "tiring to drive" (engaging) but “not dizzying to sit in” (stable and smooth).
Interior & Tech
Inside, the SUV is a tech haven:
11.9-inch digital instrument display
14.5-inch central touchscreen
10.9-inch front passenger screen
Massive 88-inch AR-HUD projecting essential driving data onto the windshield
Size & Design
The Q6L e-tron is larger than the standard Q6 e-tron sold in Europe:
Length: 4,884 mm
Width: 1,965 mm
Height: 1,694 mm
Wheelbase: 2,995 mm
Exterior highlights include a closed-off matrix grille, customizable LED DRLs, and a glowing Audi four-ring logo, giving it a futuristic yet powerful appearance.
Launch Offers
During the pre-sale period, buyers will receive a luxury gift package worth up to RMB 60,000 (~€7,500), making the Q6L e-tron an even more enticing option for premium EV buyers in China.
