vivo X Fold5 Teased Ahead of July 10 Launch – First Foldable with IPX9+ Water Resistance and Lightest Book-Style Design
vivo has officially kicked off its teaser campaign for the upcoming vivo X Fold5, rumored to launch on July 10. The device is already making waves with its record-breaking durability, promising unmatched dust and water resistance for a foldable smartphone.
The X Fold5 is set to feature IP5X dust resistance, beating Samsung’s IP4X rating and providing better protection against dust intrusion. While IP5X doesn’t entirely block dust, it ensures that particles won’t interfere with the phone’s operation.
Even more impressive are the three water resistance ratings: IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+. IPX8 covers submersion, while IPX9 is rare in smartphones and protects against high-pressure water jets. vivo’s own claims go further—stating the X Fold5 can be folded and unfolded underwater at a depth of 1 meter up to 1,000 times, a feat no other foldable has achieved.
In addition to its durability, the vivo X Fold5 is teased as the lightest book-style foldable ever, offering premium portability alongside its tough build. The teaser also confirms a green color variant, adding a stylish touch to this rugged device.
As the foldable market heats up, vivo appears ready to challenge the dominance of Samsung and others with its innovation-first approach.
